The first time I attempted to restore a classic car I had no idea of all the frustrations and time associated with getting it done. I had some idea of what to do I just didn’t know how it was done once everything was apart. After I took the darn thing apart, I just stared at the hundreds of pieces lying all over the shop dumbfounded. I was thinking, “Man I never knew there were so many parts to one car”. What now?
After a few months of sleepless nights, no money and no expreince in taking on a major project, you guessed right. I never finished that first attempt at automotive restoration. I gave the car away because I got frustrated and bored with the idea. But my second car was a much better proposition. I did get it done. Although it wasn’t a professional job it did give me the confidence to do many more car builds through my life.
I learned a lot about dedication, planning, struggle and eventually satisfaction from a job nicely done.
My life lesson was this - No matter how all the scattered pieces look at first, if you truly want to accomplish a dream, you must figure out how to put it all together even if you have to go through lots of BS and mental anguish. You will gain valuable experience in what NOT to do so you CAN do.
Do you think that you can manage the frustrations and mental anguish to achieve your dreams?
Businesses are born of dreams. For many dreamers, as well as business owners, economic freedom and the chance to become wealthy are justifiable reasons to put forth all the effort it takes to keep this monster going full blast.
Entrepreneurs aren’t so much interested in just developing new ideas because they can. They are good at building a business that will provide them with the greatest chance for fulfilling dreams of financial independence, security and self-esteem.
For others, those desires lie within the passion of their ideas and the gradual progression into a permanent business lifestyle. Whatever desire or aspiration, operating a business and forging it into an organization that meets the proprietor’s goals will take a great deal of effort, working smart, dedication, loyalty, sacrifice and fearless endurance.
Do you know what it takes to make a business successful and self-sustaining? If you answered yes, then you’re way ahead of the game. But, if you’re like most business operators you think about that on a 24/7 basis.
For many the answer to long lasting business prosperity eludes them. Business owners are always searching for the right answer to this age-old problem. Most businesses that are supposedly profitable at first are not always in the long run. Nevertheless, what makes a business successful is not some kind of “fountain of youth” secret. It’s no mystery that success stems from knowledge and how you put it to good use.
Knowledge Equals Success
Success from knowledge is not an earth shattering observation. We live in an information based society. Information and access to it shapes the way we conduct business. With that information comes knowledge and the ability to reach your destination.
One of the main keys to a profitable and lifelong business involves a few simple formulas:
A firm desire to succeed, a well-developed marketing strategy, a solid plan of action, great products and services, sufficient capital and resources to effectively support and promote your business offering that will excite, enthuse, entice and satisfy your customers.
These ingredients are critical in the foundation for business success. Ultimately though, they are an offspring of knowledge. The more knowledge you gain in your area of expertise, the better your chances for successfully managing and expanding your business. Now get in that ride and go, man, go. – Mikey www.carisms.com
